What's New in the Servlet and JSP™ Specifications

This presentation will show the new features of the servlet and JavaServer Pages specifications (v2.4 and v2.0, respectively). This presentation will start with a brief overview of Java Web applications, and then will focus on the details of the new technical features added to the new specifications.

JavaServer Pages and the Expression Language

This presentation will provide a complete description of the new Expression Language for JavaServer Pages. The Expression Language is a new feature for JSP pages that was included in the most recent JSP specification (v2.0). This talk will present the syntax and semantics of the Expression Language and show numerous examples in a real Web application.

Bryan Basham is a Java Course Developer for Sun Services, and he has over 15 years of software development experience. He has worked for NASA developing advanced automation software using Artificial Intelligence techniques. He has also worked for a consulting firm developing custom, object-oriented, business applications. Recently, Bryan is a course developer for Sun Microsystems concentrating on Java technology and Object-Oriented design principles. He has worked on a large range of Java courses, including Sun's core Java programming course, the JDBC course, a J2EE overview seminar, the Servlet/JSP course, and the OO Analysis and Design course. Bryan is a Sun Certified Developer for Java 2 Platform and one of the key designers of the Sun Certified Web Component Developer for J2EE Platform certification. Bryan is a practicing Zen Buddhist, Ultimate Frisbee player, audiophile, and telemark skier.
